Sorry! We forgot one thing!
We went to the arvada center to watch a fantasy play called Frog and Toad. Hi parents and guardians,
We started Norse Mythology this week! We also started a new book called The Egypt game! We are finishing geometry in math. We are starting a writing unit. Bye! Hi parents and guardians,
This is Owen and Jan speaking or maybe...... typing. This week we had our Valentine's day smoothie party! We had 2 blenders and made about 29 different kinds. We are also getting ready for PARCC testing. We are learning prefixes and suffixes! We are also doing norse mythology and angles. Sincerely, Owen and Jan Today (Thursday, 1/19/2017) we started a new mode of operation. I am trying this out for Thursday and Friday to see how it goes with the class. If it is a complete failure, we will go back to teacher directed learning, but for now I have turned control over to each individual student. I would like them to get to know their own learning style and be allowed to follow through on that. I have given each student a checklist. On the checklist there are a number of activities which need to be completed before the end of school on Friday. (This week includes only two days of activities.) There are math, science, writing, Egyptian project and reading.) We are really working on TIME MANAGEMENT. There are some who will probably finish everything today and some who will only finish an item or two because of time management. If the work is unfinished on Friday afternoon, they may have homework on Friday. It will be a learning curve for all involved, including me. I will keep you posted and I ask that you do the same. If you notice anything amiss, or if you have suggestions, I am open to them. I will have our student bloggers update this section today.
Welcome!! This is the Student Blog Spot! Students will each have the opportunity to post in this section (at least once) every week. Stay tuned for this week's upcoming information!
