Thanks for visiting our website! We hope you enjoy it. Make sure to check out the student blog tab. It will inform you about weekly happenings and it will be updated regularly by students in class. (I will also update there to keep you posted on things.) Our learning, both in the classroom and outside of it, has been very successful thus far this year and we are excited for the second half of the year. There have been so many opportunities to learn and grow (for all of us) and we are having so much fun in the process. The most important thing we are all gaining this year is an appreciation for the journey and an empathy for others as we persevere in our learning. We are learning to listen and respect one another. We are learning to take risks and trust ourselves. We are learning to appreciate different perspectives and cultures. And we are learning to enjoy the process with each other. We are steeped in Habits of Mind, Growth Mindset and Project Based Learning and we are all enjoying the journey. We have gotten off to great start this year - studying Greek mythology, honing our math facts, doing word problems, writing opinion essays, reading great books, doing Instant Challenges, learning to cooperate and collaborate, respecting each other and listening. December brings our Greek Mythology presentations and the launch of our science fair projects. Busy times! |
Power 30During Power 30, we address social and emotional issues daily. We also work with Ms. Person weekly on a collaborative approach to problem solving and conflict resolution in which each student takes ownership of problems and solutions.

Interactive Math NotebooksMath has been a fun and rewarding subject for all! We have been mastering many concepts and improving our math fluency. We are going to begin using interactive math notebooks to allow us to process information individually.

Greek MythologyOne of the highlights of the first semester was our study of The Odyssey and Greek Mythology. This unit helped us perfect our writing and reading, as well as honed our research skills and appreciation for stories and literature from other cultures.
